Five persons have died while several others sustained varying injuries in a road accident which occurred in Mpape, a nearby settlement to the Maitama District of Abuja.
Reports revealed that the accident happened on Thursday and was caused by a brake failure in a truck carrying sand.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Chorrie Mutaa, confirmed the incident, stating the rescue team of the corps had retrieved five dead bodies and ten injured individuals.
The accident, he said, involved thirteen vehicles, including a truck and a motorcycle.
