Charly Boy
Nigerian singer/activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has taken a swipe at some Northern Muslims for burning a poster carrying Davido’s picture.
Davido incurred the wrath of some Muslims recently after sharing a music video of his signee, Logos Olori that showed some people dressed in white clothes, praying the way the Muslims do, dancing as they recited some Quranic verses and prayed.
Muslims, especially in the northern part of the country, accused the singer of disrespecting Islamic beliefs and practices. They demanded that he apologises. Davido later deleted the video but has not made any statement since then.
A post shared by Arewa influencer, Sarki_Sultan on the mirco-blogging platform, Twitter, captured the moment a group of youths were seen burning the singer’s poster.
Charly Boy took to his Twitter handle this morning to berate the youths for burning the poster, asking them to go to court if they are vexed about the video.
