They were burned down during an inter-community crisis between the village and Gure people last Friday.

This was also confirmed in a video obtained by SaharaReporters from a source in the community showing the aftermath of the incident.

According to the source, only two houses were not damaged during the attack, leaving hundreds of Kitimi inhabitants homeless and displaced.

The video also showed villagers’ motorcycles and other properties being burned during an inter-communal conflict.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that at least one person had been confirmed dead during the crisis which started five days ago.

SaharaReporters gathered that some hoodlums from Gure village who were armed with cutlasses, guns and other dangerous weapons stormed Kitimi village on Friday over an age-long controversial claim of ownership of a piece of land bordering both villages.

It was learned that a woman died while three others were injured during the attack.

It was learned that the Nigerian security operatives had taken over Kitimi village after the incident to ensure peace was restored to the two warring communities.
