Popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi has responded to those attacking him for stating that children should not be flogged as a sign of discipline.

Bovi had earlier revealed that his son breaks televisions when angry, sparking controversy over his approach to discipline.

In a latest reaction on his X account, Bovi addressed the backlash, saying he had triggered angry reactions with his phrase “for the fun of it.” He clarified that he was trying to make a point about gentle parenting and stood firm in his opposition to physical punishment.

Bovi also took a swipe at his critics, saying they can continue to physically discipline their children if they choose to, but he will not be swayed from his own parenting approach.

He wrote:

“I don go trigger angry people because of the phrase I used . “For the fun of it”. Make una no vex. In trying to color my point, I’ve offended a shallow mob. You don’t have to agree with me. If you have children you want to beat, enjoy. My papa no physically beat me and I turned out almost ok.”
