Muhammadu Buhari and Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II
The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, paid a visit to the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at his residence in Daura, Katsina state.
During the visit, Buhari accompanied the monarch to the palace of Umar Farouq Umar, the Emir of Daura.
The former president also presented a royal horse to the Benin monarch.
Sharing photos from the visit, a former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, via the microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “After Oba of Benin, Ewuare II concluded his visit to His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown, Daura, the former Leader offered to respectfully accompany the esteemed traditional leader to the Umar Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina to bid him farewell.”
Since his return to Daura, his home town, on May 29 after the completion of his terms as president of Nigeria, Buhari has continued to receive dignitaries at his residence.
